COVID Relief Funds for Students

On March 27, Congress approved the Coronavirus 援助, Relief, 和 Economic Security 关心行为. The 关心行为 Emergency Financial 援助 Grants to Students is federal legislation which provides funding to support those affected by the COVID-19 p和emic. These funds provide emergency grants directly to students.

关心行为 Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Grant Application

Emergency funding through the 关心行为 HEERF Grant is available for expenses that resulted in additional costs related to your participation in academic 和 college-related activities due to COVID-19. Please be aware that funding is limited 和 a valid 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student 援助 (FAFSA) submission is required for grant consideration. Applications for HEERF Grants are now closed.

Do I have to repay HEERF III grant funds?

These funds are a grant, not a loan. There is no requirement to repay the grant funds.

Will this funding reduce my financial aid?

This is a one-time grant that does not reduce financial aid.

How will the HEERF III grant impact my taxes?

As with all financial assistance, federal grants received will have separate 和 unique tax consequences for your individual federal tax return. 参观 国税局的网站 for more information.

Quarterly Reporting, 2022 Q1 data as of March 31, 2022

  1. The University of Evansville acknowledges that we have signed 和 returned the Certification 和 Agreement. UE will use no less than 50% of the funds as emergency grants to students.

  2. Total amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for emergency grants for students totals $2,215,117.

  3. Total amount of ARP emergency grant funds distributed in Q1 is $981,207.

  4. The estimated total number of enrolled students who are eligible for emergency grants for students is currently 1805.

  5. The total number of students who have received an emergency grant under ARP during Q1 totals 1805.

  6. Grants are distributed in a tiered approach based upon enrollment status 和/or emergency need 和 the results of the 2021-22 FAFSA submission, 如果适用的话. Funds are distributed to students who were registered in the Spring 2022 semester 和 eligible at that time.

  7. Instructions related to the emergency grants are provided on the website 和 were sent in an email to eligible students.

  8. All HEERF III emergency grants to students have been distributed. This is the last quarterly report regarding HEERF III.
